ThermiSmooth^® Body treatments use radiofrequency heat in two ways, at the surface to reduce that “orange peel” look that can dimple your skin, and deeper, to address the underlying issues causing cellulite. RF heat focuses on realigning and boosting collagen in your skin. The aging process breaks down the connective tissues that provide the skin with support, making it sag and melt, and creating cellulite bumps. By rearranging existing collagen and promoting new collagen growth, Manhattan Aesthetics uses ThermiSmooth^® to smooth and tighten your skin and its underlying tissues, increase blood circulation, and facilitate fat cell death by compromising the structure of unwanted fat cells. These cells are then filtered out of the body naturally in the lymphatic system, leaving your skin firmer and sleeker than ever.

How Long Do Treatments Last?

ThermiSmooth® procedures typically take anywhere from 15-45 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area. Many patients report feeling no pain, and in fact, liken the procedure to a warm massage. Most appointments last around an hour, and patients typically undergo 3-4 treatments over a period of 6-8 weeks for optimal cellulite reduction outcomes.

Am I a Good Candidate?

ThermiSmooth^® is not considered an effective solution for weight loss, so patients experiencing cellulite troubles should have realistic expectations of the outcome. Thermi radiofrequency devices should not be used for patients who are pregnant, have a fever, or exhibit signs of skin infection in the application area.

Results and Downtime

Because it takes the body time to eliminate fat cells that are affected by the ThermiSmooth^® treatments, results may not be immediately visible. The treatment is designed to produce long-term collagen stimulation, so the most dramatic results are seen around the 3-month mark. Studies of results show the effects of skin tightening and cellulite reduction with ThermiSmooth^® can and often do last up to 1 year or longer.
