How Does Platelet-Rich Fibrin Work?

Platelet-Rich Fibrin is a more concentrated version of PRP. Using a small portion of the patient’s blood, we’re able to effectively isolate platelets and growth factors while adding an advanced fibrin matrix. This unique matrix acts as scaffolding for the PRP which protects and preserves platelets giving the patient longer-lasting results.

Am I A Good Candidate for PRP Fibrin?

Like many patients, you want to get the most out of your procedure as possible. PRFM can help you do that. The procedure is highly customizable to the patient’s individual needs, and because it uses autologous cells, it is safe and effective for nearly anyone. The ideal candidate for PRFM is an otherwise healthy adult who wants to take their PRP treatments to the next level.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix can be used as an injectable or applied topically to;

Smooth fine lines and wrinkles
Improve textural problems
Minimize acne scarring
Restore lost facial volume

Your Manhattan Aesthetics provider may suggest pairing PRFM with microneedling or laser treatments for enhanced results. Treatments are personalized according to your concerns and aesthetic goals.

*Individual results may vary.

How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?

Adding PRFM to your procedure doesn’t take much additional time at all. You’ll undergo a simple blood draw before treatment. The sample will then be sent to our lab to be separated and prepared for either injection or a topical serum. In most cases, the entire process takes under 1-hour to complete. Most patients are able to schedule their Platelet-Rich Fibrin treatment during their lunch breaks.

What Results Will I See?*

Results may vary depending on your concerns and type of treatment. When injected, patients can see an increase in tissue volume immediately with an optimal outcome lasting upwards of 3+ months. When applied topically after microneedling or laser treatments, the serum penetrates to deeper tissue to jump-start the collagen rebuilding process. The Fibrin Matrix found within PRFM protects platelets from reabsorption making results much longer-lasting.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is no additional downtime with PRFM treatments. Patients can resume most normal activities immediately following their procedure. You Platelet-Rich Fibrin specialist will speak with you about potential risks and side effects at the time of your in-person consultation.
