IPL + PhotoFacial

Are you bothered by crepey or patched skin after years of UV-exposure?

Do you feel embarrassed by darkly pigmented skin? Are fine lines and wrinkles becoming harder to manage? Would you like to combat visible signs of aging and sun damage without surgery? If so, you may be a good candidate for non-invasive Photofacial treatments at Manhattan Aesthetics.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), also known as a Photofacial, is a non-invasive procedure to correct superficial imperfections. Freckles, sun spots, rosacea, age spots, broken capillaries, and acne are no match for this revitalizing procedure. If you are looking for ways to achieve a clear, luminous complexion without any downtime, an IPL treatment might be the best treatment option for you.

How Does IPL/Photofacial Work?

Using a custom handpiece, your practitioner will gently deliver advanced IPL wavelengths to heat the dermis. This process causes collagen to expand and the blood vessels to constrict. The result is a clear, glowing complexion. The Photofacial is entirely customizable and can safely combat a variety of individual skin health issues while also providing total rejuvenation.

Am I A Good Candidate for IPL/Photofacial?

IPL can be beneficial for patients of all ages who are bothered by their overall complexion. Whether you’re looking for a non-invasive procedure before a big event or seeking to keep skin in optimal health, IPL is the procedure for you. Treatments are safe and effective for many skin types and tones.

Photofacial can help treat;

Fine Lines
Wrinkles
Sun-damaged Skin
Enlarged Pores
Rosacea
Liver Spots
Hyperpigmentation

As you can expect with any procedure performed at Manhattan Aesthetics, the first step of your treatment is a comprehensive evaluation of your skin. PATIENT TESTIMONIALS

5/5
*Individual results may vary.

How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?

IPL treatments are quick, easy, and generally pain-free. You may feel a slight tingling sensation as the handpiece is passed over the treatment area. Treatment times with the Photofacial can vary depending on the type and severity of your condition. However, your entire IPL treatment will take between 30 and 60 minutes.

Prior to beginning the Photofacial, your practitioner will gently apply a cooling gel to the treatment area to protect your skin and ensure a painless experience (for our most sensitive patients, we offer anesthetic).

What Results Will I See?*

Results from non-invasive IPL treatments are gradual and progressive allowing for a subtle and discrete change. Some pigmented lesions will initially darken and fall off while others simply are reabsorbed into the body fading over time. You can see some improvement as early as 1-week post-treatment with your IPL procedure.

Maximum benefits can be seen as collagen and elastin levels are restored over the course of 3-5 months. Many patients require a series of treatments spaced 1-month apart to achieve an optimal outcome. Once you’ve met your initial goals, single maintenance treatment can be done as needed to prolong the effects of your Photofacial series.

Is There Any Downtime?

While IPL is typically considered a no-downtime procedure, some patients prefer to wait to return to social engagements for up to 1-week as their skin fully heals. However, you are free to get back to your normal routine immediately with several minor restrictions after a Photofacial. A high-quality sunscreen and protective clothing are a must throughout your IPL treatments.

Side effects are minimal and short-lived but can include slight redness, swelling, or peeling. The majority of side effects can be managed with mineral-based makeup during the first several days following treatment.
