How SculpSure® Works
The hyperthermic laser energy delivered by SculpSure® is specifically attracted to resistant fat in areas like the thighs, flanks, abdomen, buttocks, and arms. Through elevated temperatures, fat cell membranes are disrupted, resulting in cell death. The body’s lymphatic system takes over, flushing these cells out through our natural filtering system. Up to 24% of fat cells are disrupted in just a single session. Because the body does not create new fat cells—they only grow or shrink with weight gain or loss—the SculpSure® targeted cells are gone for good.
The procedure itself is fast, only 25 minutes. Applicators are applied to the area, and the heat energy enters the adipose tissue under your skin while cooling is maintained on the surface to prevent damage to your skin. Patients report feeling comfortable, even soothed, and they spend time reading, relaxing, or even napping.
Am I a Good Candidate?
SculpSure® treatment is not for weight loss, but reshaping designed to target areas of the body with a greater concentration of fat cells. As such, exemplary patients for the SculpSure® procedure are within 30 pounds of their ideal weight, or have a BMI of 30 or less. How Many Treatments Do I Need?
95% of patients require only a single treatment. That’s right, the procedure doesn’t continue for months or years at a time or require maintenance to keep your new, shapelier silhouette. A few patients may benefit from a 2nd treatment to reach fat reduction goals, but because the SculpSure® applicators are adjustable to nearly any configuration, and because more than one treatment can be undergone in a single day, the procedure is not drawn out.
Results and Downtime
It does take the body some time to filter out the dead fat cells, so while results are possible immediately, improvements will continue over a period of 4-6 weeks, with maximum results around 12 weeks. If you have need of more than one treatment scheduled 6 weeks apart, your reduction in inches will continue for up to 3 months past your most recent appointment. The procedure is non-surgical, non-invasive, and pain-free, so you’re able to resume your active lifestyle immediately following your SculpSure® session. You may experience some tenderness the next day, so comfortable clothing is recommended. Drinking plenty of water will help your body flush out the fat cells affected by your treatment.
