It damages the cell membranes, causing the fat cells to break apart. Your lymphatic system will clear away the damaged cells over the following weeks.
Kybella® pricing can vary depending on your provider and your location. You can also expect more than one Kybella® treatment, so consider this when estimating cost. An average Kybella® session costs around $1000. How many sessions you need will depend on your response to treatment and how much submental fat you want to eliminate.
Kybella® results start to appear after about two weeks. They will continue to develop for two to three months after your last treatment. Most people need between two and six treatments to achieve their desired results. Fat cells do not regenerate, so your treated fat cells never come back. If your weight changes, the remaining fat cells may cause a noticeable change in your results.

Most people experience some bruising and swelling after Kybella® injections. These usually resolve within a few days. You can resume your regular activities after treatment. Some people choose to wait a day or two before resuming social activities to let the swelling start to resolve.
If you have moderate to severe submental fat, you may be a good candidate for Kybella®. Ideal candidates have isolated areas of stubborn fat under the chin and not much skin laxity. Your provider will review what you can expect from the treatment, so you have reasonable expectations.
