How Does Dysport® Work?
Dysport® is comprised of a carefully formulated strain of botulinum toxin that’s more spreadable than similar injectables. The procedure effectively blocks the nerves in the tiny muscles of the face, reducing activity. With the help of Dysport®, we’re able to treat fine lines and soften the overall complexion. Dysport® can safely make the face appear more youthful, rested, and alert.
Am I A Good Candidate for Dysport®?
You may be a good fit for Dysport® if you are unhappy with your facial appearance due to years of repetitive facial movements. Dysport® is a better option for patients with a broad range of issues in a larger area. Patients that have many fine lines throughout the forehead (glabellar lines) or around the nose and mouth may benefit best from the procedure.

How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
When you receive Dysport® treatment at Manhattan Aesthetics, we will begin by thoroughly examining your skin. Following the application of a topical anesthetic (if requested), Dysport® will be injected directly into your facial muscles in the areas where underlying problems occur. You will typically need 3-5 small injections to achieve optimal results. Each session of your treatment will take 10-20 minutes. Dysport® treatments can easily be scheduled during your lunch break or in between running errands.
What Results Will I See?*
Men and women love the near-instant results that come with Dysport®. You can expect results to appear in 3-5 days and last between 3-4 months. Following your Dysport® treatment, you will be physically unable to frown for a time. Some patients even find that after a few treatments they “unlearn” how to frown or lose the urge to frown entirely and no longer require cosmetic injections.
Is There Any Downtime?
Dysport® doesn’t have any downtime involved making it ideal for patients with busy lifestyles. While the majority of side effects are mild and short-lived, you may experience slight redness, swelling, or tenderness up to several days post-treatment. Makeup can be applied just 24-hours after your Dysport® appointment.
