How Much Does BOTOX® Cost?

BOTOX® is the most popular cosmetic enhancement procedure in the country for a reason: it works. It smooths horizontal forehead lines, glabellar lines (the ones between the eyebrows, sometimes called “elevens”), and crow’s feet. But for many, the cost of this solution to these ubiquitous signs of aging is a mystery. At Manhattan Aesthetics, we’re here to give you all the information you need to see if BOTOX® Cosmetic is right for you.

How BOTOX® Works

BOTOX® is a neurotoxin that blocks the neurotransmitters responsible for moving the muscles that create the forehead wrinkles, brow furrows, and crow’s feet. Repetitive facial expressions like frowning, squinting, smiling, and laughing create skin folds that, over time, take longer and longer to smooth out. This gets worse as we age and we begin to lose collagen and hydration in our skin. BOTOX® is injected into the forehead and orbicularis oculi muscles to relax them and prevent exaggerated, repetitive motion so the skin has a chance to recover from wrinkles that have begun to form.

What is the Cost of BOTOX®?

BOTOX® is priced per unit, and the overall cost of your treatment will depend on the number of units you require. Men frequently require more units due to larger facial muscles. Patients who also treat not just the forehead, but between the brows and around the eyes, too, will need more units for the entire treatment than if they were targeting one area of the face. Costs in New York City range from $10-$20 per unit, resulting in between $250-$500 cost per treatment area.

How Many BOTOX® Units Do I Need?

BOTOX® injections take skill and training to perform, and under our experienced guidance, the amount you’ll require to achieve your cosmetic enhancement goals will be assessed during your consultation, so you’ll know up front what to expect. First-time patients may require more than seasoned pros because your muscles aren’t used to the medication, but over time, they’ll relax, so fewer units are needed.

BOTOX® Results and Downtime

BOTOX® is one of the most effective means of reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles around the eyes, forehead, between the brows, and even in the nasolabial folds around the mouth. It begins to take effect quickly, usually within 3 days, and becoming fully effective within 2 weeks. Known as the “lunchtime procedure” BOTOX® requires no recovery time, so patients are free to return to work or busy lives immediately.

Cost, however, isn’t the only consideration. Some less reputable clinics and salons will offer deeply discounted BOTOX® injected by inadequately trained practitioners. Injections administered incorrectly can leave patients with frozen, lopsided, or droopy features. At Manhattan Aesthetics, we are specifically trained in facial anatomy for the safety of our patients. We have also been officially awarded the 2018 Black Diamond distinction by Allergan, the makers of BOTOX®. As such, we are in the Top 1% of all BOTOX® Cosmetic providers in the United States. Only the most skilled cosmetic enhancement clinics receive such a designation. It is because of our dedication to our craft, our attention to detail and artistry, and our outstanding patient care that we’ve become one of the premier aesthetic practices in New York City.
