Restylane® Explained
Restylane® is a dermal filler that’s very versatile and mainly composed of hyaluronic acid. It’s injected into the skin, restoring a more youthful appearance by lifting up the outer layers. This works thanks to the acid in the filler that hydrates the skin and makes it ‘plump up’. The result is that you instantly see more volume and radiance in your skin, with wrinkles and fine lines becoming less visible.
How Long Does Restylane® Last?
The effects of Restylane® are shown to kick in soon after the injection. However, you can expect it to last in your face for up to 6-9 months. After this period, you can come back in for touch-up treatments to continue seeing sustained results.
Benefits of Restylane®
Restylane® comes with a range of benefits, the main one being that it contains naturally-occurring ingredients. Hyaluronic acid is found within your skin anyway, usually in connective tissue. So, you’re simply injecting something that already exists, rather than pumping your skin full of chemicals. As a result, this is a safe treatment that has been FDA approved since 2003.
Furthermore, Restylane® dermal fillers are some of the least invasive around. An injection is all that’s required. The entire procedure typically only lasts an hour or so, and there is minimal downtime. You might experience some swelling and soreness immediately after the treatment, but this goes down within 24 hours.
Finally, this treatment is shown to provide instant benefits following the procedure. Restylane® adds more volume under your skin, smoothing out wrinkles straight away. As mentioned earlier, your face also looks a lot brighter and less weathered. But, the effects continue to develop, and you usually see the full results after around 14 days. In short, Restylane® works, so it can be very useful if you have wrinkles, loose skin, a lack of vibrancy, and many other common facial skin conditions.
