How Many Sculptra® Treatments Will I Need?

Injectable fillers are very versatile and come in a multitude of varieties. While most people see the term ‘injectable’ and instantly think of Botox, there are other types of fillers available. Dermal fillers are perhaps the most well-known, with many brands offering special fillers to target frequent aesthetic concerns.

Amongst the brands out there, Sculptra® has been making a name for itself. This is an injectable filler that can be used on numerous parts of your body to deliver rather impressive results.

What is Sculptra®?

Sculptra® is a filler that uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to help reduce deep lines and folds in your face. PLLA is a collagen stimulator, meaning it encourages the body to produce more of this essential protein. Consequently, more collagen means tighter and firmer skin, with more structure to it. This can help to minimize wrinkles while adding more plumpness to an area. Thus, Sculptra® has been used to treat different areas of your body.

Facial Filler

Most people know Sculptra® as a facial filler, as it is very good at dealing with fine lines and wrinkles. The increased collagen production smoothes out these lines, doing an excellent job of reversing the signs of aging. Typically, it is used on these parts of the face:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Marionette lines
  • Temples
  • Chin lines
  • General wrinkles

Hand Filler

Additionally, Sculptra® can be used as a hand filler. As you get older, the skin on your hands gets very thin and wrinkly, exposing your veins and making you seem much older than you are. By injecting Sculptra® into your hands, it adds more plumpness and volume to the area. Collagen is released, building up more skin cells and restoring a youthful appearance to your hands.

Butt Lift

Lastly, some candidates will undergo a Sculptra® butt lift. When injected into the buttocks, the PLLA boosts collagen production and can smooth out the skin, getting rid of cellulite. Not only that but increased collagen in the area makes the skin a lot firmer, almost lifting the buttocks. For this reason, it is commonly referred to as a liquid butt lift.

How Much Sculptra® Filler Will I Need?

The amount of Sculptra® you need will greatly depend on your specific skin concerns. Someone with minor facial wrinkles will need less Sculptra® than someone with deep lines. In terms of treatments, the average you will need is three sessions over the course of a few months. Again, this can vary, but this is the average.

Benefits of Sculptra®

With this dermal filler, you can restore your youthful appearance and delay the signs of aging. It is also so useful at improving your skin’s structure by encouraging collagen production. A lot of fillers don’t do this, which is what makes Sculptra® stand out from the crowd. There is also no downtime needed when undergoing this treatment, making it convenient and accessible.

Am I a Candidate for Sculptra®?

You are a candidate for Sculptra® fillers if you have any of the issues we’ve discussed throughout this blog post. From facial concerns to aging hands, and even a bum that could do with some extra attention. Sculptra® contains a substance our bodies already produce, so there are no side effects or allergy concerns to worry about.
