How Much Does Restylane® Cost?

While you might love to lose a little spare fat on your body, that same volume loss in your face can have a much less positive effect. Facial fat often diminishes as we age, leaving hollow areas and worsening the appearance of wrinkles and sagging. Dermal fillers like Restylane® at Manhattan Aesthetics are a quick, easy solution!

What is Restylane®?

Restylane® is a cosmetic injectable designed to restore facial volume, enhance features, and smooth out wrinkles. It is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler, similar to Juvederm®. Since hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that boosts water retention, HA fillers like Restylane® have moisturizing benefits for your skin..

Restylane New York City

How Much is Restylane®?

The cost of any Restylane® treatment depends on several factors. Your geographic location and provider’s experience will influence the price, but choosing a reputable NY provider like Manhattan Aesthetics is essential for good results. The average cost of a Restylane® treatment is $889.

We customize every patient’s procedure to their unique needs, and dermal fillers are a particularly versatile, personalizable treatment. Some patients receive a filler in one area, while others receive several injections in multiple areas for comprehensive facial rejuvenation. The total cost of your Restylane® treatment will depend on how many injections you receive.

What Can Restylane® Treat?

Restylane® has many potential uses and benefits. The Restylane® family of fillers has several different formulas for specific treatment areas, such as Restylane® Kysse for lip enhancement and Restylane® Contour for cheek augmentation.

Here are some of the primary uses for Restylane® fillers:

  • Lip augmentation
  • Smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles
  • Filing in deep folds, such as marionette lines and nasolabial folds
  • Enhancing facial contours
  • Cheek augmentation
  • Restoring lost facial volume (such as under-eye hollows)

What to Expect After Restylane®

Dermal fillers are a fast, simple injection procedure. Afterward, you can resume your daily activities with no downtime. You may have minor bruising or swelling at the injection sites for a few days. However, our providers have the experience and gentle techniques to minimize these side effects.

Results from Restylane® injections are immediate. If you have swelling, this may initially obscure the results, in which case you’ll see optimal improvements within a few days. Restylane® fillers last approximately six to nine months, depending on which formula you receive. You can return for maintenance treatments as needed.

Am I a Good Candidate for Restylane® Dermal Fillers?

Almost anyone is a good candidate for Restylane® fillers. Whether you have facial volume loss, wrinkles, or thin lips, we can create a customized treatment plan with Restylane® to address your cosmetic concerns. Since hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance, there’s very little risk of an allergic reaction to Restylane® and other HA fillers.

What Skin Type is Microdermabrasion Best For?

When you shop for skincare products, you probably filter by your skin type–oily, dry, sensitive, or otherwise. And when you consider popular skin rejuvenation treatments like laser resurfacing, you often have to factor in your skin tone. Some skin treatments, like microdermabrasion, make it easy by being safe and effective for all skin types!

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is an exfoliation treatment that boosts collagen production and rejuvenates your complexion. During the procedure, one of our experts at Manhattan Aesthetics will use a handheld device to remove the top layer of damaged skin. Removing dead skin cells from the surface reveals a bright, healthy complexion. The process also helps increase collagen production.

Manhattan Microdermabrasion

Benefits of Microdermabrasion

This simple yet effective treatment can improve many common complexion concerns. The deep exfoliation removes damage, reducing wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and scarring. Since it also boosts collagen production, microdermabrasion can improve your skin tone and texture, too.

We often recommend microdermabrasion for:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Enlarged pores
  • Acne scars
  • Dull complexion
  • Discoloration and dark spots
  • Uneven skin texture

What Skin Type is Microdermabrasion Best For?

Many skin rejuvenation treatments are only suitable for certain skin types and colors. One of the advantages of microdermabrasion is that it’s safe for all skin types. Since no light or laser energy is involved, patients with any skin color can have the treatment. Microdermabrasion also doesn’t discriminate between dry, oily, or combination skin types.

Patients with oily or acne-prone skin may especially benefit from the treatment since it cleans out pores and can reduce acne and scarring. Microdermabrasion is gentle enough even for most sensitive skin. However, we may not recommend it if you have rosacea or are prone to broken capillaries.

What to Expect After Microdermabrasion

Your microdermabrasion treatment at Manhattan Aesthetics will be quick and easy. After the procedure, you can resume your day with minimal side effects. Most patients only have mild redness and dryness for a day or two.

Keep your skin moisturized to help it heal and avoid sun exposure exposure. You should avoid hot showers, steam rooms, and vigorous exercise for 24 hours after microdermabrasion. For approximately one week, avoid exfoliating your skin, and don’t use harsh products such as acids, retinol, and benzoyl peroxide.

How Many Microdermabrasion Treatments Will I Need?

You’ll likely enjoy brighter, healthier-looking skin within a few days. Concerns like acne scars and wrinkles typically take a few treatments, however. The best results are seen after a series of three to six weekly treatments. Then, we recommend a microdermabrasion session every month or two for long-lasting skin benefits.

Top 3 Reasons to Try Botox® for the First Time

Botox® is one of the biggest names in the cosmetic industry. Even if you’ve never been to a medspa or tried a cosmetic treatment, you’ve probably heard of Botox®. If you’re ready to dip your toes in the water of beauty treatments and rejuvenation, this famous injectable might be the perfect place to start!

What is Botox®?

Botox® is an injectable wrinkle treatment made with botulinum toxin. Though several injectables are made with this neurotoxin, Botox® is the oldest and most well-known. These botulinum toxin injections are designed to smooth out dynamic wrinkles, the lines that form when you make facial expressions, such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and smile lines.

The neurotoxin in Botox® injections temporarily paralyzes targeted muscles. The injection relaxes these overactive muscles by stopping repetitive movements, allowing dynamic wrinkles to soften.

3 Reasons to Try Botox®

Neurotoxins like Botox® are among the many anti-aging treatments we offer at Manhattan Aesthetics. Our providers can help you look and feel years younger with various treatments tailored to your unique facial structure, aging concerns, and aesthetic preferences. If you’re on the fence about whether or not it’s time to give Botox® a try, here are three reasons to consider scheduling your first treatment.

1: An Easy, Convenient, Safe Treatment

Want to fight back against signs of aging and feel more confident in your appearance but don’t want to risk an invasive procedure? Or don’t have time for a lengthy, uncomfortable recovery?

With Botox®, you can be in and out of our office in less than an hour and return to your daily routine without downtime. This includes the time for us to apply a topical numbing cream so you won’t feel any discomfort during the injections. At Manhattan Aesthetics, Botox® treatments are fast, pain-free, and convenient.

2: Proven Safety

Botox® Cosmetic has been around for decades. It’s been rigorously tested and remains one of the most popular cosmetic treatments. Botox® is FDA-approved to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines, and it’s proven effective for various other uses too. You can rest easy receiving Botox® from our experienced providers at Manhattan Aesthetics.

3: Helps Prevent Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Though it’s usually used to smooth out lines and wrinkles, Botox® can also be a preventative measure against signs of aging. Many patients in their 20s and 30s receive Botox® to treat early wrinkles and prevent new ones from forming.

Am I a Good Candidate for Botox®?

Almost anyone is a good candidate for Botox®. Whether you have dynamic wrinkles you want to reduce or are interested in the injectable’s “prejuvenation” benefits, our experts will craft a customized treatment plan for your needs. We may not recommend Botox® if you are pregnant or nursing, have had a reaction to botulinum toxin in the past, or have certain health conditions.

What to Expect After Laser Hair Removal

Razor burn. Bristles that reappear in just a day or two. Ingrown hairs, nicks, and so many razors and cans of shaving cream. These are the hassles of hair removal for countless people. With laser hair removal at Manhattan Aesthetics, you can leave it all behind!

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Laser hair removal uses advanced laser technology to damage hair follicles, causing them to stop producing hair. It has become a popular alternative to shaving and waxing since it’s less uncomfortable, has fewer side effects, and has long-lasting results for more permanent hair removal.

You can have laser hair removal almost anywhere you have unwanted hair. Common treatment areas include facial hair and body hair on the legs, underarms, and bikini lines. The procedure usually takes an hour or less, depending on the treatment area. One of our doctors or licensed medical aestheticians will move the laser device over your skin. It will deliver pulses of laser energy that target the melanin in your hair, damaging the follicles so that they no longer produce hair.

Laser Hair Removal New York City

Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?

Laser hair removal at Manhattan Aesthetics is quick, effective, and pain-free! We can provide a topical numbing cream to maximize your comfort. Typically, patients only feel some warmth or a mild “snapping” sensation.

After the procedure, side effects are minimal. Cool compresses and gentle moisturizers can help relieve any discomfort. The treated skin may look and feel like a mild sunburn, with mild redness and swelling. You’ll need to void sun exposure and moisturize the area for a few days while it heals. Otherwise, patients can resume their usual routine immediately after treatment.

How Many Sessions of Laser Hair Removal Will I Need?

Since laser hair removal can only target follicles that are in their growth phase, it takes multiple treatments to address all the hair follicles in the targeted area. You’ll see improved hair reduction after each subsequent treatment. We generally recommend six to eight sessions for optimal laser hair removal results.

How Long Does Laser Hair Removal Last?

Once you achieve your desired results from laser hair removal, you’ll be able to enjoy them for several months. Laser hair removal lasts for several months for most people. Others may enjoy hair-free smoothness for years after their treatment. You can come back for maintenance sessions as needed.

Am I a Good Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?

If you’re tired of shaving, waxing, or tweezing your unwanted hair, it may be time to try laser hair removal. Manhattan Aesthetics offers this treatment with cutting-edge technology so we can provide optimal results for almost any patient. Laser hair removal is most effective for those with light skin and dark hair, but our experienced providers can treat most skin tone and hair color combinations.

What are the Benefits of an IPL PhotoFacial?

The combination of time and sun exposure is rarely kind to our skin. Many people find themselves with dark spots, wrinkles, crepey skin, uneven skin texture, and other signs of sun damage. IPL photorejuvenation at Manhattan Aesthetics can combat all this and more!

What is an IPL PhotoFacial?

An IPL PhotoFacial uses intense pulsed light to rejuvenate the skin. The IPL device emits rapid pulses of light energy that penetrate deep into your skin without damaging the surface. This energy heats up the dermis, breaking down unwanted pigment and prompting a healing response to address sun damage and signs of aging simultaneously.

IPL-Manhattan

IPL PhotoFacial Benefits

IPL treatments are the perfect combination of effectiveness and convenience for many patients. They can have greater effects than a regular facial but are gentler than laser resurfacing. At Manhattan Aesthetics, we often recommend IPL PhotoFacials to our patients for their numerous benefits.

Fast, Easy Treatment

A PhotoFacial is non-invasive and typically pain-free. Your Manhattan Aesthetics expert will apply a cooling gelt before using the IPL handpiece to deliver the light therapy to your treatment area, usually the face. Patients can have a topical numbing cream if they prefer. The entire treatment generally takes less than an hour.

No Downtime

You can resume your usual activities as soon as you’re ready after a PhotoFacial. Some redness and peeling are common, so some patients take a few days of social downtime while their skin heals, but you can also cover these side effects with a gentle mineral makeup.

Improves Several Complexion Concerns

We recommend IPL treatments as an effective solution for various skin concerns. A PhotoFacial can improve:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Dark spots, brown spots, and freckles
  • Rosacea and broken capillaries
  • Acne scars
  • Spider veins
  • Enlarged pores

Exceptional Results

You can expect a clearer, brighter complexion in just two weeks after your PhotoFacial. As your skin clears away damaged pigment cells and produces more collagen, you’ll see optimal results gradually over a few months. We typically recommend a few treatments for the best outcome. Then, you can enjoy long-lasting results with one or two yearly maintenance sessions.

Am I a Good Candidate for IPL Treatments?

PhotoFacials can be beneficial for many people with aging, sun-damaged skin. Since it targets pigment, IPL is generally best for those with light to medium skin tones. You should not undergo IPL treatments if you’ve tanned. We’ll evaluate your candidacy during a detailed consultation and create a customized treatment plan for your needs.

Are There Any Side Effects With Kybella®?

Do you find yourself taking pictures at strategic angles to minimize your double chin? Even at a healthy weight, many people have a little more submental fat than they’d like, and it can feel impossible to get rid of. At Manhattan Aesthetics, conquering your double chin is easy with Kybella®!

What is Kybella®?

Kybella® is an FDA-approved injectable treatment for submental fat (double chin). It uses a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring enzyme, to break down fat cells. Kybella® is an effective, non-surgical alternative to options like liposuction for reducing chin fat. We offer Kybella® to help patients regain a smooth, slim neck and jawline they feel confident in.

Kybella New York City

How Does Kybella® Work?

Kybella® is a quick, simple injection procedure. Your Manhattan Aesthetics provider will make a series of small injections under your chin to evenly distribute the synthetic deoxycholic acid. This bile acid then begins breaking down and absorbing the fat cells, destroying them so they can no longer store fat. A Kybella® session takes just 15-20 minutes.

What to Expect After Kybella®

The most common side effects of Kybella® are mild bruising, swelling, and tenderness at the injection sites. These typically subside within a week or two. However, occasionally, patients experience significant swelling from Kybella® that lasts longer. This is fairly uncommon, but we don’t recommend getting Kybella® within a month of a special event in case of lingering swelling.

There’s no downtime after Kybella®, and you can return to work the next day. Some patients take a few days of social downtime until the swelling fades. We’ll give you aftercare instructions for minimizing swelling, such as using ice packs, wearing a chin strap, and avoiding certain things that may increase swelling.

How Long Does Kybella® Last?

Most patients need two or more treatments spaced one month apart for optimal Kybella® results. It takes time for the deoxycholic acid to break down the targeted fat, which your body absorbs. Some patients need up to six sessions of Kybella®.

Once you achieve your desired results, they should be permanent. The destroyed fat cells cannot return. However, the remaining fat cells in the area can expand if you gain weight, so a healthy lifestyle is essential for long-lasting results.

Am I a Good Candidate for Kybella®?

Kybella® offers a convenient, effective way to ditch your double chin without surgery. Good candidates for Kybella® are overall healthy and near or at their ideal weight. Maintaining a healthy, stable weight after the treatment is crucial for long-term results. Patients with good skin elasticity typically see the best results from Kybella®.

What is Juvederm® Used For?

Do you have areas that would benefit from more volume? Juvederm® dermal fillers can add natural-looking volume almost anywhere you want it. This multi-use family of fillers provides your Manhattan Aesthetics injector with options to address many frustrating facial concerns.

What are Juvederm® Dermal Fillers?

Juvederm® is a family of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. This injectable treatment enhances facial volume in areas like the cheeks, lips, and wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is a material found in healthy skin and many skincare products. Each Juvederm® product uses a different formula with a unique density and texture. Your injector will choose the best ones to address your specific concerns.

What is Juvederm® Used For?

Each Juvederm® formula has a different purpose. Manhattan Aesthetics offers three Juvederm® dermal fillers to target different areas.

Juvederm® Voluma

Juvederm® Voluma targets areas of lost volume, such as the cheeks and under-eye hollows. It can also address sagging or loss of definition around the jawline and chin. Your injector may recommend it for other areas as well. This resilient formula can last up to two years.

Juvederm® Vollure

Juvederm® Vollure treats lines and wrinkles, especially around the mouth and nose. These include marionette lines, nasolabial folds, and smoker’s lines. This formula is flexible enough to move naturally but firm enough to lift and smooth deep wrinkles. It can last up to 18 months.

Juvederm® Volbella

Juvederm® Volbella is a lip filler that provides plumper, fuller lips. Whether you have naturally thin lips or have lost lip volume, this formula can help. Because the lips need to move freely, Volbella is smooth and flexible. It can last up to one year.

No rules say which Juvederm® filler should be used in a particular situation. Your Manhattan Aesthetics injector has the experience to determine which filler to use. They may use more than one type of filler to achieve your desired results. During your consultation, ask about any areas of hollowness, volume loss, or lack of definition you want to address. We almost certainly have a dermal filler that can help.

Is There Any Downtime After Juvederm®?

Juvederm® injections can take as little as 15 minutes. There is no downtime, and you can return to your usual activities. Some people notice minor bruising or swelling in the treated area. These effects are mild and resolve within a few days. You can help prevent bruising by avoiding alcohol, NSAIDs like ibuprofen, and some supplements before and after your injections.

Am I a Good Candidate for Juvederm® Dermal Fillers?

Since the body recognizes hyaluronic acid as a normal component of skin, Juvederm® is safe for almost everyone. Good candidates have reasonable expectations and goals. Candidates should not have a history of reactions to this type of filler or an infection in the treatment area.

How Does AviClear™ Treat Acne?

Whether you have minor breakouts or severe cystic acne, the appearance of blemishes can make you self-conscious and even leave scars. AviClear™ is a revolutionary acne treatment that gives you long-lasting, clear skin. This laser treatment has been proven to provide superior acne control without medications or side effects.

What is AviClear™?

You may already know that acne forms when sebum from your sebaceous glands combines with dead skin cells and debris to clog your pores. AviClear™ is a laser treatment that targets the sebaceous glands to control acne. As the first FDA-cleared laser acne treatment, AviClear™ has changed how your Manhattan Aesthetics team helps people with acne. Its life-changing results appear quickly and without side effects or medications.

New York City Aerolase, Chemical Peels & Acne

How Does AviClear™ Treat Acne?

AviClear™ uses a laser with a wavelength of 1726nm that targets sebaceous glands. These glands absorb this wavelength, creating heat that damages them and limits their sebum production. The laser does not affect your skin, and special cooling technology maintains a comfortable temperature during treatment.

An average session lasts about 30 minutes. Most people need a series of three scheduled a month apart. You may feel heat during treatment, but the cooling technology protects your skin from injury. Your Manhattan Aesthetics provider will recommend stopping treatments like retinoids several weeks before your session.

How Long Does AviClear™ Last?

Most acne treatments require continuous use. Topical treatments or medications usually stop working as soon as you stop using them. You can expect your AviClear™ results to last at least two years and possibly much longer. Research shows that over 90% of those who have AviClear™ treatments are happy with their results after one year. The ability to control acne for years at a time with just a few treatments makes AviClear™ unique.

Is There Any Downtime After AviClear™ Acne Treatment?

AviClear™ requires no downtime, and you can return to your daily routine. Your skin will typically look red after treatment, but this can fade in under an hour for many people. Some people report breakouts between AviClear™ treatments. Your Manhattan Aesthetics team will help you manage them if they occur. This breakthrough acne will stop after you finish treatment.

Am I a Good Candidate for AviClear™?

People with mild to severe acne typically make good candidates for AviClear™. It even works for deep, treatment-resistant acne that has not responded to other methods. Unlike most laser treatments, AviClear™ is safe for all skin tones, even deeper ones, making AviClear™ an excellent option for most people with acne.

Am I a Candidate for Juvederm® Dermal Fillers?

People choose dermal fillers for many reasons. Some people want to replace volume lost from areas like the cheeks over time. Others want to enhance and boost areas like the lips. Juvederm® dermal fillers are targeted to provide superior results. This family of fillers has a formula to address many different facial concerns.

What are Juvederm® Dermal Fillers?

Juvederm® is a family of injectable hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in your skin and in many skincare products. As a dermal filler, it can form complex cross-links that give each formula unique properties. Juvederm® fillers can address fine lines and wrinkles or add volume for a smoother, more defined appearance.

Juvederm New York City

Am I a Candidate for Juvederm® Dermal Fillers?

Since hyaluronic acid is found throughout your skin, Juvederm® dermal fillers are safe for almost everyone. Good candidates have reasonable goals and expectations. Most healthy adults can have Juvederm® injections. Younger individuals often want to enhance or define areas like the lips, while older people may wish to treat fine lines and wrinkles or lost facial volume.

You should not have Juvederm® if you have had a negative reaction to hyaluronic acid fillers. You may need to reschedule your treatment if you have an injury or infection in the treatment area. Juvederm® is not recommended if you are pregnant or have certain health conditions.

What Can Juvederm® Dermal Fillers Treat?

Juvederm® dermal fillers can target a wide range of facial concerns. The most popular uses of these fillers include:

  • Plump and enhance the lips
  • Smooth fine lines and wrinkles
  • Address nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • Restore or add volume to the cheeks
  • Sculpt and define the jaw

Each Juvederm® formula works best for a different area. Lip fillers must be smooth and flexible to allow natural motion, while formulas used in the cheeks must be resilient and firmer. Your Manhattan Aesthetics injector will determine which formula can achieve your desired results.

How Long Do Juvederm® Dermal Fillers Last?

How long your dermal filler results last depends on the formula and your body’s response. Juvederm® lip fillers can last up to one year. Some other formulas can last up to two years. We recommend medical-grade skincare products and regular sunscreen to protect your results and help them last longer.

Is There Downtime After Juvederm® Dermal Fillers?

You can return to your usual activities after Juvederm® with no downtime. Some people notice minor bruising or swelling in the treated area that resolves within a few days. Limiting strenuous exercise and avoiding NSAIDS like ibuprofen for 24 to 48 hours can reduce the risk of bruising.

Is There Downtime After Chemical Peels?

Environmental exposures and the effects of aging can leave skin dull, rough, and unevenly pigmented. Chemical peels rejuvenate the skin by removing dead or damaged outer layers. This process brings healthy new skin cells to the surface for a more even, youthful appearance.

What are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are facial treatments applied to the skin. They chemically exfoliate the skin’s surface, removing targeted outer layers. The number of layers removed depends on the strength of the peel and the conditions treated. Peels that treat the outer layers of skin have minimal downtime but will require more sessions, while a deeper peel will have more downtime but more dramatic results with fewer treatments.

How Do Chemical Peels Work?

Most chemical peels use different acids, such as alpha hydroxy or trichloroacetic acid. These acids break the bonds that hold the dull, damaged outer layers of skin cells together. These old cells are swept away when the peel is removed, leaving the skin brighter and clearer. Manhattan Aesthetics offers chemical peels ranging from mild to intensive to meet your needs.

Is There Downtime After Chemical Peels?

Each type of chemical peel has a different amount of downtime. The following peels available at Manhattan Aesthetics range from no downtime to several days or more.

Vi Peel

Our most popular peel has many uses, but the Vi peel excels in treating hyperpigmentation. You will often see brighter, more even skin after one treatment, but most people benefit from two to three peels for maximum results. You can have treatments as little as two weeks apart.

The Vi Peel has no downtime and lets you immediately return to your usual activities. Your skin may look flushed for a few hours after treatment, especially if you have sensitive skin. Avoid sun exposure between treatment sessions.

Alpha Hydroxy (AHA) Peel

AHA peels work especially well for textural issues, acne, and superficial signs of sun damage. The number of treatments needed varies depending on your skin’s needs. These peels may have no downtime. However, you may also experience a few days of minor redness and light peeling. Your chemical peel specialist will explain what you can expect.

Trichloroacetic (TCA) Peel

These highly customizable peels can target hyperpigmentation, lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. They are usually part of a customized treatment plan that may include one or more AHA peels. A TCA peel may have no downtime or cause a few days of redness and peeling. These all-purpose peels can address a wide range of skin issues.

Phenol Peel

Our most intensive peel can treat significant hyperpigmentation issues like melasma, deep textural issues, sun damage, and pre-cancerous blemishes. Phenol peels are not right for everyone but can have dramatic results for the right person. These peels can significantly affect your skin and take time to heal. Your chemical peel expert will plan your recovery with you.
